Shreve Memorial Library was founded in 1923. The Main Library is located at 424 Texas Street. There are currently twelve full-time branches, nine part-time branches, one bookmobile and one van for delivery of books. Our building program will add two new full-time branches.

Welcome to the Broadmoor Branch Library. We would be proud to have you visit our new facility. The new building is located at 1212 Captain Shreve Drive in southeast Shreveport. It was built at a cost of $5.2 million, including land, design, construction, and furnishing. The library is 32,000 square feet and was designed by Schuldt, Goza, Babineaux. It houses genealogy and reference departments, children's and adult services, and several meeting rooms. The library opened at the new location on April 2, 2000. Thirty-one employees serve the library. Presently, the Broadmoor Library's total holdings are 63,682 items.

The LSUHSC Library's mission is to equip users with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively utilize biomedical information resources. The library provides expertise in information management to advance the institutional goals of instruction, clinical care, research, and knowledge-based regional economic development. In addition, the library serves as a health information resource for the community.
